About Stacey

I was born in Mississippi in 1985. My family was in the Navy and we moved around several times until we settled in Virginia. Since early childhood, I always loved to draw since I could hold a pencil. One of my main inspirations was from my Grandmother, a wildlife conservationist, whose pen and ink skills have amazed me to this day.

I have experimented with a variety of mediums, such as Acrylics, Oils, Watercolors, Pencils and Markers, but I prefer acrylics which allow me to achieve layers of detail to create a realistic look for the viewer. After taking all the art classes I could in high school and graduating, I was unable to afford college. So I taught myself, either by staring at my grandmother's drawings, researching techniques, or learning to paint through friends and/or the magic of the internet. I currently work at an art supply store and I love to share my knowledge and experience with our customers, as well as what they have to share. I hope to do the same for other aspiring artists out there!

My Studio Assistants

Tu

I have had Tu since she was born. What makes her special is that she was born without eyes. This handicap has not stopped her; 8 years later and she's still going strong with her other senses heightened. She is my constant shadow, companion and the best cat ever.

Ishikai

My Silver Dapple Dachshund, Ishikai is always full of energy even at 10 years old. He doesn't know when to stop even if I have to work. And he likes to hog my chair.

Birds

Occasionally during my videos, you will see birds pop in and out demanding my attention. The most notable is Taji the Pied Lutino Cockatiel, Gavin the White-Faced Lutino Cockatiel, and Twistan the Pied Cinnamon Cockatiel.
